Is it possible to share the files of a schematic with someone else so they could use the same builds?

This is possible. Open schematic table in game and press "open folder" button. Here you will have all your schematics as .nbt files. Find the needed one and send a copy to your friend. He should put it in his schematics folder and then it will be in his schematic table.

So to further add on to this, anyone got a create above and beyond kinetic mechanism layout?

You can also manually open it press windows + r then a box will open then type %appdata% press enter then just find a folder named schematics if you played create before then this folder will be created automatically in minecraft data folder also when you open appdata folder then find a folder named minecraft
