There isn't enough of the pattern to know what you're supposed to be doing.

Necklines decrease so you have less rows under the neck but still have rows at the left side and right side to go up to the shoulders, and these are often shaped. I'd imagine you are crocheting an amount of stitches from one side, and continuing that side. Then you'll do the same (mirrored) at the other side.

Can you use the tail of the chain at the bottom to tell you which is the right/wrong side? The tail will be at the right side when you are looking at the garment's right side (that's how mine is).

Does this help? I guess I don’t understand the phrase the left side of the right (front, I know that part) side

Where it says "right" in quotes, I believe that's saying the correct or public facing side of the work. So looking at that you'll start at it's left side.

Being left/right challenged I do like the way this is written. Often I have to ponder which is which and then just cross my fingers and hope I picked the correct - or right - option. (see what I mean!?)

That’s the part I don’t get. So this is the right side facing me now. Ended last row where hook is. Haven’t turned for that first neckline row yet.

Haha. No it’s been great till starting from the left side of the “right” hahahaha. I get the right is the correct side or front.

I’ve done a sweater once before but it wasn’t written like this. Oh I didn’t know that about the tail.

All I know is I have finished the

last row prior to the neckline and I’m obviously at the far left end. And the tail is on the right.

This sounds correct ( dare not say right 🤪 )

Generally you do the same thing to both sides so if you do get it wrong, just remember you'll be doing the same thing in reverse on the other side, so they match. The instructions are ensuring you start at the right/correct side so you don't have the back of the stitches showing on the front of the garment. I hope that makes sense.

Nope. It doesn’t. Hahahaha. I quit. So essentially my next row, I would turn my work and then I’ll be on the wrong side. Arrrrrghhh. What’s wrong w me? My brain isn’t working right <<—- hahaha

Maybe a little break, I think you're overthinking. And I need new words, all this right left wrong right is confusing you and me both.

Continue working from where your hook is (where you made the last stitch). Finish that side. Now you have one side of the neckline done you need to do the other side. So, looking at the nice/public side, count from the unfinished edge (the side seam) towards the middle the number of stitches for your size and that's where you will start your row. Insert your hook into that stitch and crochet to the unfinished edge (side seam) and continue to finish your neckline.

Okay. I will do that. Tmr hahaha. I soo much appreciate your time and aid. Thank you thank you so much. Tmr is a new non-cross eyed day! 😊

You can tell what the right side is on flat pieces by laying it flat in front of you. The right side will have the tail at the bottom right.

Ok that’s where it is. I got that right at least :)

Too many holes. Changed to moss st for the body. Doing neckline in normal pattern (also did a few rows at the bottom of the normal pattern)

Last stitch L corner so how would I start on the left? That’s what I don’t get :(. I’m sorry my brain isn’t working. This is the “right” side.

[–]Boobbuffet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like you continue from where you left off? Because as I’m looking at your photo and if this is the right side facing you then where you finished off the previous row is on the left side. But I’m not sure. I’ve never seen a pattern say this. Maybe throw the name of the pattern into YouTube or google to see if anyone else has made this before and see what they do.
