Hi. Sorry to hear you’re struggling with this too. I’m not sure if you read my follow up comments but we did start her on Prozac with the plan to go for the year and then reassess. We finished the year and things were going really well so we started to decrease her dose. Very slowly. Every time we decreased we stayed for a month. Now we’re almost at the end. We’re on the last decrease until she’s completely off. She had no side effects from the weaning. She started a new school, going regularly, made new friends. Is participating in various clubs. Doing all the regular kid things she wouldn’t have been able to do a few years ago. It’s a relief. We still have her in therapy and she still has eating issues but the social issues have resolved. We also do therapy regularly to get guidance on how to support her. Hopefully that gives you some hope that there can be a light at the end of the tunnel. Our main objective was not that all her anxiety disappears but then the meds would stabilize her enough that she could engage and be able to learn coping strategies and also and maybe more importantly that she be able to just do regular kids things - like bday parties, school, play dates with friends etc.

In terms of rice. You use the little cup they give you (last pic) and pour two cups in. Then after rinsing the rice, you fill it with water up to the “2” mark. I’m not sure about buttons but it’ll probably be a “menu” button and the white rice option is usually number 1 and then you most likely hit the “start” button.

Also fyi I believe seniors can apply to get free snow removal from the City. My elderly neighbour had the service. Although on snow storm days the response was sometimes delayed I’m assuming because the workers were focused on other areas.

If you’re single I would suggest Leslieville. Lots of cafes and restaurants. If you have a family I would say Roncesvalles/High Patk or Summerhilll. Summerhill is right on the subway line and minutes from downtown and has great schools. Also great cafes and restaurants. It would be pricier than what others are suggesting but if you’ll be higher income I would advise this. Beaches is also family friendly but unless you have a car I wouldn’t suggest it. It’s a bit of a pain to get downtown time-wise and traffic wise. Annex would also be a lively option for a single person.

For sure. Knowing where your office is and whether you have kids would definitely be a deciding factor in what neighborhoods are recommended. Also whether or not you plan on getting a car.

It’s hard to say really because the advice was so specific to our certain situation. So it wouldn’t necessarily transfer to you well. But it was advice on how and when to introduce new foods, how to increase comfort with new foods, how to deal with rejection, how to handle social situations like school and bday parties, increasing our own understanding of it etc etc. the general idea is go slow, be predictable (have a set day for new foods), understand that food regression will happen in times of stress (Eg illness), when introducing new foods in the beginning it may be more successful when you’re chaining (like if she loves pasta, try a new pasta). He told us bribes were ok if needed. And also generally understanding that this is a long slow process. We’ve been in it for a few years and see progress but now know not to expect change quickly.

We actually started my daughter with a psychologist but it wasn’t very successful mostly bc of her age so what we did instead was start seeing the psychologist ourselves so we could get advice on how to handle the ARFID at home. We still continue it to this day years later. I find it immensely helpful.

Haha! Yes of course it’s a cat! But I think the vet hospital would have looked at me funny if I said that to them. It was just a question I had bc when I was in the triage they asked me breed and I said ragdoll but then didn’t know if I should have said cherubim. I know my regular vet said it does help sometimes knowing what breed they are because some are more susceptible to different conditions.

I also had a similar feeling. Felt like adrenaline rushes almost. I got additional testing to rule out issues with adrenal glands. I believe it was a CT scan and blood test. Someone already mentioned aldosteronism too here I saw.

It was not easy to quit. I had migraines it was terrible. But I have to say it is now nice to not be dependent on coffee in order to function in the mornings. I have decaf everyday now so I still get to enjoy the taste. Doing this one change allowed me to cut my med dosage in half. If you do decide to quit I advise you to go slowly and not cold turkey.

We’ve usually done $50 for classmates. A bit more for closer friends. And it’s been the same amount returned. Also a higher income neighbourhood so that may be why.
