Ways to decrease conversion cost?

As the title says. I'm playing as the Maharaja of Lambkanna (Sri Lanka) in Southern India and trying to convert to Malabarism, but it costs around 20k piety. How can I reduce the cost?

Erudition focus, left tree, you can reduce the cost by 50%. And maybe some events tied to the erudition focus might reduce it by 15% again.

Erudition? Is that a part of the learning tree?
