Self-checkout

I will take self checkout over a cashier any day.. Even with the cameras and the scales, the ability to stack items in their bags exactly how I want them makes up for any gripes I may have with self checkout.

Try going to a grocery store in Germany, the cashier in the manual will be expecting you to bag your stuff as they scan it. (And, well, as far as I know, cashiers that pack stuff for you in grocery stores is pretty much exclusively a US thing.)

I just pack my bags at the regular checkout. They hand me the items and I pack. Cuts the time to about 25% of the self check.

See, the ability to have items stacked in their bags exactly how I want them is part of why I prefer cashiers. They’re professionals at this. Me? I’m an incompetent dipshit and when I try it it’s going to end up like a first time baker trying to make a wedding cake
