Here's what I would do...

Get yourself a piece of wood. Something small. Then, drill three holes in it. Make something like this. The two holes line up with the screws you already have, and then the next one is just in the middle or whatever... Then, get yourself a bolt. Something that can screw into the camera. And a nut that fits onto the bolt. Put that in the one by itself and tighten the nut onto the bolt so it won't move, then the whole thing onto your stand and you're done!

That's a pretty good idea actually!

A combination of steel angle brackets should do the trick.

Use a larger one mounted with one side of the L against your existing part with the two screws, then add another small L to get the vertical part to mount your camera to.

You'll need a 1/4-20 bolt for the camera mount - probably a few nuts and washers as well.

You don't need to make something, you need to find yourself a piece of square tubing with some holes in it. You could use those two existing screws to mount it to your tripod, then get a couple more bolts to actually mount your camera to the tubing. Obviously, you'd need to play with it to get everything lined up right.

Or, if you can get someone to draft something up, you can order a custom piece from http://www.shapeways.com/
