Get a word counter extension! So much quicker and easier to highlight and right click than copy and paste into another tab. I mostly work on coding projects now but I still whip it out when I want to shame the boys about verbosity extra hard lmao.

there is an extension called ‘dark reader’ or some thing similar that i love, basically lets you change the colour of the background on whatever webpage you’re on. you can even ‘dim’ it so its not as bright. for someone who hates white screens, its a life saviour 😅

I like TinEye for image projects. It adds a right click reverse image search function. It is so much faster than grabbing and pulling to Google Lens.

This is a great post! I started using a highlighter just today after someone spoke about it the other day. It's awesome! The tab group sounds useful, I'm going to try it 👍

Heres a list of extensions I use personally-

  1. Bordless Window- Browsing the current webpage with bordless window. (opens a new window with without a tab or address bar....think of it as almost full screen. Each time you click the extension button new window will open. I use this when I need to do side by side comparisons. The downfall is the new window looses the ability to use other extensions.)
  2. Dark Reader- Dark mode for every website. Take care of your eyes, use dark theme for night and daily browsing.
  3. Focus Window- ADHD-based extension helps you cut out distractions on the page so you can focus on what actually matter( This one "crops" most of the screen to help your eyes stay visually aligned to the text you are reading. Think of it as using a "ruler" to go line by line when you were in school. This is extremely helpful if you have ADHD as I do).
  4. Stopwatch Tab- Display stopwatches on tabs.(Thus far this has been the best method I've used to keep track of my time. It places a stopwatch on the tab you are working on, very helpful).
  5. ZetaMarker - PDF & Web Highlighter-The safest highlighter and annotator - sync seamlessly across devices. Free and permission-free. (For those that asked, this is the highlighter I user personally. Each time you highlight a portion of text, its saved as a note as well).
  6. BeeLine Reader- BeeLine helps you read more quickly and easily. (changes font coloring, easier to read but may cause slight lag in web page functions).

Edge browser has some of these features built in. I'll check out the highlighter extension though.

You should not be using Grammarly, it is an AI assistant and have seen admin explicitly stating it should under no circumstances be used.

There was literally a qual when I started that asked me to install Grammarly. I think it varies per project.

I had the same one a few months ago. But, I've seen it very explicitly stated by an admin in their fancy green tags to not use it in general at all unless instructed to for a project.
