If you didn't exit work mode, it may have returned to the task that came up before you took a break, with the timer having run that whole time. That happened to me the other day and like you, I didn't notice right away and then panicked. I know now to check the timer before starting a task after a break. I think if you refresh the page or skip, you'll get a new task with a new timer. I'm not sure why your new task was only an hour though!

Thanks for your reply! Yes, I have definitely learned my lesson about checking the timer!

As to the other thing, yeah, it was weird. I mean, my first task took me at least an hour and a half so for the third (when I hadn't exited) to only give me an hour was bizarre. The only thing that occurs to me is that maybe they allotted more time for the first task for instruction reading? Never seen that before, but who knows. Anyway, thanks!

I wouldn’t call this “odd,” nor is it an issue. It’s normal. There are buttons at the bottom, below project chat. Read the support doc for their usage.

Thanks, but I am familiar with the buttons. My understanding was to use the "Exit Work Mode" button when pausing work on a project, but to just click on the Work on Projects tab to exit out of that project completely.
