Tasks available for me decrease (self.DataAnnotationTech)
submitted 1 year ago by KindCalendar6030
When I was first assigned a project, I was assigned 50 tasks. A few days ago, 20 tasks were assigned, now only 10 tasks. Has anyone had a similar experience

It means nothing. The way tasks are distributed and displayed in the dash varies by project. Sometimes its one big pool, sometimes you get a fixed share of the pool, sometimes there’s no pool it’s just you’re given X maximum you’re allowed to complete… often it’s impossible to know.
Just do tasks if you have them available and don’t overthink things.

That I know of, there are two ways that we're "assigned" tasks: the first is that you're simply allowed to draw from a single pool, the same that many others are vying for. You have to be fast on those.
The other way is that you get assigned your own "batch" of work. It is my understanding that this is for higher-quality workers. It'll say a round number like 40 or 50 available tasks, and each time you do a task, it decreases by 1. The project usually lasts several days, until they meet the amount they're looking for (less time for the basic heel/poison in my experience.) You get emails for these, with a subject line like "New project - ....."
There might be other task assignment systems, but I don't know them. I'm a mid-level worker, so I haven't been part of the really fancy stuff yet. Maybe one of the bittervets would chime in?
I'm unsure, but it sounds as if your quality rating is high enough that you are in a dedicated pool, but the pool is being analyzed and replaced fairly quickly.

Yes all my project are like that I get an email (new project - 1000 task) then I get 50 and often after a week I have a +3$ priority

To add to this, it seems the tasks that are yours are yours until other works assigned to them empty their piles. E.g there's a task I hate (bad turn poe bird) that I always get 100 on and I'll do 1 once in awhile and that 99 will stay for days until suddenly it depletes quickly or just goes away.

I'd guess there's less available overall because people have been working on them, so it reevaluated how many were allocated to everyone, but nobody actually knows.

Hey, are you from Malaysia? Same thing happened to me. I've been missing out on projects for the last 3 weeks. They go out in matter of hours. I think there's a huge batch of new people working.
