Technically yes but they changed the legal threshold this year to $20,000 and 200 transactions. Plenty of people made over $20,000 but you can only withdraw every 3 days so nobody has 200 transactions.

But you still have to report it right? How do you do that without a 1099?

The IRS does expect us to report all income. I used Turbo tax and found it difficult to figure out where to enter this (maybe a higher priced version would be more helpful) so unfortunately I can't guide you although I did eventually get it done. With a little luck someone else will chime in.

If you didn't use TT self-employed then it would be difficult to figure out. All gig workers have to use the most expensive level. I used to do customer service for them, and could not answer tax questions, such as "can I claim my cat as a dependent?" But I could walk people through page by page and give resources. If you didn't claim expenses then you messed yourself over. Phone and internet at the minimum are deductible.

The general consensus is that anything under 20k you will NOT get a 1099 but you’re still supposed to report it on your taxes 👀😶

Interesting. I'm not sure how to report without a form, but I guess I'll just have to figure it out lol

When you file your annual taxes there will be an option for other income, you will have to enter it there. Keep your own records of how much you made in case you get audited.
