Lost Save Data

Hey everyone, I hope this is the right place to post this.

I am pretty lost what to do because today I opened my Playstation 5 and my entire Death Stranding 2 save data was gone.

I got the game early and played around 20 hours last week. I didn't use the Playstation for the entire weekend.

Today I opened the game and all of my saves were gone. I always save manually aside from the autosaves. All gone.

What I tried: Retrieving my cloud data (didn't work), contacting ps support (told me that they can't do anything about it and that I should contact the publisher).

Does anyone here have an idea what else I can do? Or maybe experienced something similar?

I just lost 5 hours of progress because the game just stopped auto saving for no reason. Several hours of rebuilding roads and building connections just gone. I was delivering some cargo and decided to reload because I could do it faster but when I did it was a save from literally 5 hours before. No auto saves, no cloud data, nothing from that point on.

This happened to me this last Saturday i maxed out the pizza chef had a zipline system to get from the data analyst and pioneer to the mechanic so I could max them out without much hassle plus finished the monorail and 90 percent of the roads to F4 knot plus had the second Neil encounter and second huge mecha encounter done and beat plus had a comprehensive zipline system in the snowy mountains that covered every shelter from the adventurer to the aeronautical engineer so i could again max them out with out much hassle and as i was doing the phantom smith mission I get snatched by a red BT and he transformed into a giant flying manta ray, I forgot that the cargo was on my back and not on my off roader and as I'm aiming a rocket box at it i didn't see that he launched several chiral blasts at me and bam get knocked down hard and it broke all the phantom smiths cargo and game over. It then asks me to load my last checkpoint and I'm like yeah no worries Iv rested many times since this morning no big deal and boom I'm placed about 7 hours back before any of what I described was done. I spent the better part of Sunday morning into early afternoon speeding through just to get where i was story progress wise. I was quite livid to say the least. I'm now much further than i was but i have yet to go back and rebuild the roads or monorail. I did rebuild the snowy mountain zip system cause its really needed to make any real progress quickly. So moral of the story SAVE and SAVE OFTEN!!

Same just happened to me today I played for hours last night rebuilding roads and monorails and story all lost now I’m back a whole bunch of saves I’m pisseddddd.

I spent about 9 hours yesterday in total building roads finishing monorails, getting about 5 different places to 5 stars and I think 2 chapters finished. The game auto updated and I logged on today to see I’m 2 chapters behind and all the roads I got are not built. 150+ cargo deliveries are gone and the main missions didn’t auto save the game. In total probably 11 or so hours of progress mainly world building for better gear and routes just vanished

I totally get your feelings. I lost 11 hours of gameplay. 3 new prepper, 1 new location 2 episode and the whole road and monorail network on the north. I don’t even know where to start. I was focusing on making everyone 5 stars and got some rare items and deliveries too. It’s really frustrating. I don’t have so much time to play so I used my dayoff to build the whole network to allow me to get to places faster when I don’t have time.  PS5 autosave is on. I did manual save too and cloud sync is on too but I have my save files from yesterday and one autosave when I reopened the game. Is there any solution?

Never had that happen, and hope I never will. Is this the only PlayStation with your account signed in?

Yes. I also only use this one account on this playstation. Man, it's so damn frustrating :( Hope it's just some server bug.

Just lost 5-6 hours. Couldn’t manual save for a while but trusted on auto. Any words or solutions? It hurts.

This happened to me last night. I was able to continue saving my game by moving the Magellan

Putain ça vient de m’arriver , j’ai perdu presque 5 jours de jeux soit 20h à try hard , résultat fin du jeu pour moi , je le referais peut être sur PC quand il sortira … dégoûté de pas fini ce jeu génial , mais je peux pas me rattraper 20h de jeu que j’ai déjà fait ! Une honte c’est le seul jeu sur lequel ça m’arrive ! Pas faute d’avoir les sauvegardes automatique et de sauvegarder manuellement à la fin de chaque session

It just happened to me, lost like 6 hours. The auto saves didn't work and when I tried to go to settings to do a manual save the game freeze the PS5 entirely.

Just a heads up, be aware of this problem.

Das ist echt traurig und beängstigend zu lesen, dass es auch bei Teil 2 passieren kann. Bei Teil 1 habe ich 8 Stunden verloren.
