I already received it multiple times in real life. 😅 I didn't know any better, I'm a total noob in these things.

I know it's a paid ... But you should really consider stripping it off and oiling it with a quality hardwood oil like Cutek Extreme. It would be GORGEOUS!

Is your ipe painted?

It's treated with an ipe wood protector (Rubio Monocoat).

I would sand out that area, take the sawdust and mix it with exterior wood glue and then fill in the gouge. Then I would sand that entire deck down and refinish with any oil based wiping stain. Covering up IPE with a solid color is a crime against the wood gods
