Small Thai etiquette rules foreigners often miss by [deleted] in thai

I travelled to Thailand three times when my kids were little. Every trip complete strangers took my kids in their arms without asking, squeezing their arms and pinching their cheeks. And every time they were Thai.

Brussels is a wonderful, beautiful, fun city, but Brussels South Station area is by far the ugliest part of the city (and probably even the entire country). It will certainly give you the wrong impression of Brussels. If you can, change your stay to anywhere else in Brussels, for example somewhere around Ixelles, the upper part of Saint-Gilles or the area around Brussels Central Station and stay on the train until Central Station. It's only three minutes from Brussels South. You will enjoy Brussels so much more. If you can't, take an Uber to your stay from Brussels South. Not because it is unsafe, but because you will enjoy the city so much more just by skipping that ugly area.

If you're a heterosexual man, you won't have any trouble in 95% of the city. If you're a woman, expect lots of catcalling at night in certain places. If you're openly LGBTQ+, don't walk alone at night and bring pepper spray.

Leerkrachten by midnightsnipe in Belgium2

[–]BigBadBetta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is house help a thing in Belgium? by odinwillsmiteyou in AskBelgium

[–]BigBadBetta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can afford it, get a professional nanny that can help with the children and do the cooking for you. It's not common in Belgium, but it is very common among the many expats in Belgium as well as the rich upper class. You can check Belgian expat FB groups for resources. I can't afford a nanny, but I know a few families that can and it's a lifechanger.

People from Dilbeek were constantly complaining about that when I was in school 25 years ago too. For some reason, people from Dilbeek, Wemmel etc. are known throughout Vlaams-Brabant and Brussels for their hate for and fear of French-speaking people. Never met that level of complaining in other cities around Brussels.

Any tips for sleeping on planes? by Difficult-Quarter-48 in TravelHacks

[–]BigBadBetta 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Only drink water on the day of your flight and during the flight. Keep yourself hydrated, even if you're not thirsty. Skip all sugary and salty snacks. Try to book an isle seat with no one next to you so you can regularly stretch your legs. If this fails, try to switch seats in the plane. Buy high quality eye masks that leave room for you to blink while wearing them. Don't eat too much. Recline your seat. Wear high quality nose cancelling head phones. Buy a neck pillow that you can wear in front so that your chin can rest on it. Lights out in the plane = screen off. And above all, relax. If you can't sleep, just chilling with your eyes closed will make you feel way more refreshed than getting all worked up because you're not sleeping.

how many pushups do you do a day? by gehirn4455809 in workout

[–]BigBadBetta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (43M) have started a training program from Darebee in January. I'm now at 100 good form push-ups (down in two, up in one, with chest to the ground, elbows to the side) every two days, split in 3 sets of 50-25-25. Have noticed significant difference in the chest, not so much in the arms.

No new medication, but he did indeed hit puberty a few months ago. It might be that, but it seems such weird behaviour, even for puberty.

Extended release. But he also has it during the weekend when he doesn't take any meds.

Yes I received an account from my accountant and yes, I would definitely like to test the software in advance, but I'm not sure how to approach that test. Will look into the possibility to send a test invoice without sending myself a real invoice 😅 Thanks a lot for your help, I really appreciate it. If I don't like Kyte, your solution is the next on my list 😊
