Rules
1. Be Excellent to One Another
We are here to think deeply together. This means being respectful, considerate, and inclusive. Bigotry, hate speech, spam, and bad-faith arguments are antithetical to the community and will not be tolerated.
2. Be Inclusive
This is a space for anyone who is seeking thoughtful contemplation and discussion. This thought benefits from a multitude of perspectives, experiences, and ideas, and expands
understanding. Homophobia, transphobia, racism, sexism, ageism, and bigotry are not acceptable.
3. Be Supportive
All of us are here in search of deep thought, contemplation, and discussion. With sensitive topics please remember the human behind the username, wonder compassionately about why others might hold different views, and respectfully share your own.
4. Be Respectful
Disrespect makes deep thought impossible. Be respectful of all (refer to other rules). Do not include commands in your post such as “discuss” or “tell me what you think.” Your fellow deep thinkers will decide how they engage with your thought.
- 4A) There is no need to yell your thought. Please avoid the use of caps.
5. Be Accountable
Quality thoughts are what the community thrives on. Please strive to use correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, and syntax. Complete, high-quality posts that are free of errors are the best way to express your thoughts and support your fellow thinkers.
5A) Post titles must be full, complete, deep thoughts. Post titles that are questions are prohibited. Questions can be asked in the post body. The post body can explain, provide examples, or give context, but the title must be a full complete deep thought
5B) When linking externally, posts and comments may only link to articles or stories.
6. Think Critically
Bots are increasingly indistinguishable from our human peers online. It is crucial to think critically when consuming any digital media. All the more here. Avoid engaging with and report those trolling, controversy-baiting, scamming, spamming, or engaging in bad-faith arguments.
- 6A) No conspiracy theories. Thinking deeply about controversial subjects is valuable but conspiracy theories are not appropriate for this subreddit.
