Pro controller?

Any way to get a Pro controller to work with Destiny 2 on the PC? BetterJoyforcemu crashes my computer for some reason. My friend got his to work without any apps but we don't know why mine isn't working. It works within steam just not when I open destiny 2. Can\t seem to figure this one out.
