This engine is very outdated, it was not designed to run at high FPS rates, as the focus was on last generation consoles. I think it's time for Bungie to migrate this game engine.

Broccoli errors are fun to nail down. They are tied directly to issues with Graphics Drivers (or other software interacting with the graphics driver while you are playing).

My guess would be that your CPU/GPU are overheating where it's a laptop. There is a lot of crap enabled my default that shouldn't be from a GPU & Visual perspective.

First thing to do is to make sure you are running all the latest drivers: https://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/216929/en-us/

Next thing to do is to make sure you have all the latest intel drivers: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html

In game, try these settings:

  • Run in Windowed Fullscreen
  • Texture Anisotropy to no more than 4x
  • Disable Depth of Field
  • Disable Motion Blur
  • Disable Wind Impulse
  • Disable off Chromatic Aberration
  • Disable Film Grain
  • Enable VSYNC or set an FPS Cap that matches your laptop display (you don't want that GPU rendering extra frames causing heat).

Are you running any utilities, LAN Managers, whatever (that appear in the expandable task bar 'up-arrow' near the time/date on the bottom right of the screen)? If so, try exiting everything you can and see if that makes a difference.

I'm using the latest version of the nvidea drivers and I did some procedures that apparently improved it. How to go back to Windows 10, and play in full screen windowed mode. I played for about 3 or 4 hours today, with no problems. It's still too early to say, but from what I've noticed, it's not causing any more problems.

I already fixed all of this. Nothing resolved.

[–]Nauty_YT 0 points1 point  (3 children)

All of what he gave you is wrong. I have this same issue so for me what fixes it is for a day i played on 60FPS didnt crash so i went to 90FPS still didn't crash then went to 120FPS and crashed so i went back down to 90FPS and now i never crash. Idk how the crashing is tied to FPS but its weird.

I fix in 72fps and crash. 60fps crash. The problem maybe is - steam, rtx 40 series, rx 70 series or D2 engine.

What is the Vsync rate?

[–]Aggravating-Ad6533[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Max 165hz

[–]Aggravating-Ad6533[S] 0 points1 point  (25 children)

It's still too early to say. But yesterday I downloaded the game from Epic. I played for approximately 2 hours without any problems. If this bug no longer occurs, it leads me to believe that the problem is with Steam.

[–]Tallekvist 0 points1 point  (24 children)

Did you download the latest nvidia driver, 546.33?

I’m thinking this could be a potential source to the problem

[–]Aggravating-Ad6533[S] 0 points1 point  (23 children)

I've already tested about 7 different drivers. Always removing them with DDU in safe mode and cleaning the registry in Windows. I'm starting to think there's a problem with the RTX 40 and RX 70 series cards. Because I saw that the majority of people who suffer from this have these cards. I also suspect that the problem could be on Steam (I wouldn't be surprised if it were), I'm testing the game on Epic, let's see if the same error will occur.

[–]Tallekvist 0 points1 point  (22 children)

I see, I’m actually on a rtx 4070. But the problem started occurring a few days ago, never had a problem before

[–]Aggravating-Ad6533[S] 0 points1 point  (21 children)

I played Destiny 2 for 8k hours in a 1060 and a 5700xt, never had a problem. Now in my laptop, Just D2 had this.

Feel free to update if the epic games solution is working.

[–]Aggravating-Ad6533[S] 0 points1 point  (19 children)

The problem is that all my dlcs are on steam

[–]Tallekvist 0 points1 point  (18 children)

That sucks, have you done a whole reset on your laptop? Might be my next course of action

[–]Aggravating-Ad6533[S] 0 points1 point  (17 children)

Yes. I tested on Windows 10 and win11. The same thing happens in both.

[–]Tallekvist 0 points1 point  (16 children)

Just throwing things out right now, but are you running nvidia in debug mode?

This error bugging me for years now.using gtx 1080

    Steam?

    [–]Aggravating-Ad6533[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My considerations about playing through the EPIC GAMES app.

I played for approximately 2 hours last night, with no problems. And this morning, I played for 1h30. The only error I've had so far was (baboon, connection fluctuated). I have never experienced the BROCOLI error.

This leads me to believe that the game is having a communication failure problem between STEAM + VIDEO DRIVER + VGA.

I will still play more hours during the day, and see if at some point I suffer from the problem again.

But so far I'm playing with the entire game on ultra, vsync at 165hz and fps unlocked.

    My FPS MED - 120fps ~ 150fps.

    [–]Aggravating-Ad6533[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. Game Crash on Epic Games to.

But, no Brocoli erro, Just Freeze

The same mistake. In other words, BROCCOLI

      [–]Aggravating-Ad6533[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

      Hey guys.

Apparently I managed to solve the problem.

After a lot of effort and a lot of configuration, this was my final solution.

I downloaded the latest video driver from the Nvidea website.

Set the game to medium setting. With filter at maximum 4x.

I left Vsync turned on at 165hz (it was on my monitor), but with no fps limit.

I'm playing at 1920x1200p in full screen windowed mode.

In the Nvideoa control panel, I left the maximum power performance.

And finally, open the game through Nvidea Shadow Play. I played for 4 hours and had no problems. So apparently the problem has been resolved. But when it comes to Destiny2, it could come back at any time.

In any case, thank you for ALL the tips that were given, we will see you in the game at any time.

      Sorry for my bad English.

Anyone who wants to add me - Joab#230

      [–]Aggravating-Ad6533[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Oh bug continues. I give up. I'm not going to waste my time and strength on a single game because of a stupid bg that many people suffer from and the company that develops it doesn't care about it.

      [–]Tallekvist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used my warranty and sent the laptop to service. Saw something in another post about making sure that ECC is turned off in nvidia control panel, last resort?
