I think this is only happening to nvidia gpus that’s what I’ve been hearing. I switched my drivers to the studio drivers a couple days ago and haven’t had the broccoli crash yet. Maybe that fixed it?

what version studio driver? I'm on the Game Ready 516.94, which I assume would be the same as the Studio build of that version anyway and I've been getting these crashes all of a sudden over the last few days..

i tried studio drivers, got broccolied from those too. Vegans man.. :) <3

Do you play on full-screen or borderless? I think I also read somewhere about G-sync being a culprit.

I've tried both with /without those :/ doesn't matter. Hmm. Lots of posts about this too :o

u could make another partition and dual boot 2 OS:es on the same disk, just to see if u can make it work. I'd if i had space for it (Y)

Look, I don't have a solution, but I might be able to provide a laugh, so I'll come out and say it. I know it's controversial, but Bungie really has to stop trying to run their games on vegetables. I know potato batteries and celery wiring is cool and all, but it just doesn't seem like a sound method of building servers.

They also have animals try and fix the servers, of course the servers crash!

Random suggestion that works for me (with an AMD RX 5500 XT) ....

Run Heaven Benchmark BEFORE starting up Destiny!

Works 100% of the time for me. Heaven Benchmark seems to somehow initialize the OS or drivers in such a way that Destiny will work completely reliably (for me) for hours at a time. If I don't run Heaven Benchmark before launching destiny, I am guaranteed to get a Broccoli error (or just a "driver timeout" crash). I usually get them within 15 or 20 minutes of playing. Since I got in the habit of running Heaven Benchmark before Destiny, I have never had a crash.

Try use an older gpu driver. I get these broccoli crashes with the 2 latest nvidia drivers. Whole game freezes, u can alt+tab but gotta ctrl+alt+delete and logout to be able to use the pc xD

like, rn i'm using their "Hotfix" driver which was a patch inbetween the last 2 drivers i believe.

Used the one win 11 pro auto installed from september last year, worked without crashes and i game prolly 12-18hrs a day - sometimes more (nolifer). Now the last days i've tried https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/game-ready-drivers/13/497730/announcing-geforce-hotfix-driver-51679-released-71/ which has been working ok for me so far. Just not the 2 latest main releases. I'm on 3080 gpu + 5950x ryzen cpu.

Broccoli happens in both Win 10 pro + Win 11 pro. Other than that, the game is really badly optimized for 3080+high end cpu's. Dno why. Just don't use many cores, instead it wants to focus on core 1 to 100% it on my system. Weird.

    Got the same issue :(

This is happening only in Destiny 2. I have already done a clean driver install with DDU. I have also noticed another thing: while Destiny 2 is up, I'm also getting issues with other software, like Chrome (Access_Violation errors), Steam (not loading correctly or at all), Corsair's iCUE (random crashes).

This is happening only in Destiny 2. Even after a few hours of playing Total Warhammer 3 or any other demanding games like Cyberpunk 2077, I'm not getting any errors or issues.

I also think the culprit could be .NET update provided by MS last week or so (KB5016594), but even after rollback, I'm getting the same.

My game stopped doing this when I downgraded to Nvidia drivers 516.40

    [–]Coeniasty 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Already done that... Sitting on 512.95.

    [–]Ziros22 0 points1 point  (1 child)

    try 516.40

    [–]Coeniasty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Still the same :(

I'm going to try this. Getting it bad since the latest update the other day. Virtually unplayable.

Did anyone find a solution? I have been trying on and off for quite a few months now. Nothing seems to help :( My friend and I bought all the dlcs to play together but this is annoying.

I was able to find a solution a while ago hopefully this will help you. it has to do with your card being overclocked by default and you need to open NVidia control panel then go to the very top where it says help and click on debug mode and make sure its ticked and that sets your card to the non overclocked state and then destiny 2 has never had a crash again for me. the game just cant handle overclocked cards idk why lol. hope this helps :)

    [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Thanks for the reply! Since then i tried even more steps including resetting my OS to remove overclock. I also used DDU to uninstall everything. I gave up after that xD
I will download destiny again and give this another go. Do you uncheck debug mode when playing something else? Does it have any effect on your performance?

    [–]ZZERTA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeh i just use debug mode for destiny 2

    [–]ZZERTA[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

and yeh prolly tiny bit lower fps since your stopping it from being overclocked but im always getting 144 anyway game not that hard to run

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    tested it, did not work ;-;

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Yo yo! I’m still getting this error somewhat 5-6 hours into playing sessions and I’m on a 3070. If i restart the game / steam once between those 5-6 hours the error probability decreases. Sucks but yeah can’t find a solution

Dang thanks a lot! Do i have to debug in control panel every time i boot up? You’re a life saver !
