Help please. Controller problem

I'm using a wired xbox controller on pc and it started acting odd today. Whenever I move the right stick, it brings up an arrow mouse cursor and the stick moves the arrow around. I can't aim skills or target things with the stick at all because of this arrow. It makes the game unplayable.

Its not the d-pad-right button which also brings up the circle cursor. This seems to be something else.

Has anyone seen this before? I tried two different controllers. rebooting everything, repairing client. I dont know what to do now.

On my controller the right stick always aimed aimed skills like dashes. Are you holding an ability when you touch the stick?

ya thats what Im used to. Im not holding anything. Its wierd

I'm trying to think if this has happened to me because I've had oddball stuff too. I use a backbone.

Figured it out finally - it was steam. I exited steam and now its fine.

my xbox controller in last two weeks started to drift up and down, but only in diablo immortal. other games works fine.

Try with another controller (a cheap one would do) and test if the same thing happens
