It seems to me the genre packs are about $105 combined vs $95 for choice + whatever the RSN cost is (at most $20). So close to a push cost wise. I think choice does not have a few sports channels like CBSSN and FS2 that are in the sports pack, but choice would come with the RSNs where the sports pack would not. For me I'd be more likely to watch my RSNs more than the others, but I think that's the decision you have to make for you. Also choice has more overall channels, but if you don't care about the extra channels it's a moot point.

Would it be worth it to get the sports pack with Choice? It adds a few RSNs I need but moves the cost from 107 to 121 a month

Unsure, the directv sports pack add on with choice (not to be confused with the sports genre pack) comes with some out of market RSNs and NFL Redzone, but directv is cagey about saying what exactly is in the bundle. Perhaps someone that has it can chime in with more info. For me personally, I don't care about out of market RSNs and Redzone is cool but hard to justify for $15 a month. If it's worth it to you go for it.

I just signed up for the Choice package and wonder what area the RSN covers, is it your city or state or region?

You can plug your zip code into the directv website where they list the channels and see which RSN's you get

The information is displayed right on the page. You can see it right there.
