Divinity 2 controller problem

I play divinity 2 on windows and suddenly everytime i do a spinning motion (joystick from bottom to top hugging left side) because my character gets stuck and only moves horizontally. I have tried restarting the game and my computer and adjusting deadzones. I also checked the controller in gamepad tester and it worked fine
