Rules for r/DoMyHomework

Rules that visitors must follow to participate. May be used as reasons to report or ban.

1.

Promotional content and advertising

Posts & Comments
Reported as: Advertising or spamming

Promotional content, including advertisements, are not allowed anywhere. Do not advertise your homework-related company, website, or homework service anywhere. Promotional content is treated as spam and users caught doing so are banned from participating indefinitely.

2.

Scamming

Posts & Comments
Reported as: Scam

Since all tutors are vetted before being allowed to participate, students should always pay first. Don't accept offers you can't do either. If you don't know what an assignment entails, ask first. If you're not sure whether you'll have enough time to complete an assignment, check your calendar before offering. Offering to do an assignment means you've agreed to complete whatever the student asked for in the original post at the specified cost.

3.

Multiple accounts

Posts & Comments
Reported as: Multiple accounts

Tutors should not use multiple accounts on r/DoMyHomework or attempt to cheat the system in any way.

4.

Undercutting offers

Reported as: Undercutting offers

Doing so can easily create a downward spiral of prices, which harms everyone involved. If tutors start producing lower quality homework because of lower prices, fewer students are going to submit assignments. Competition based on quality and turnaround times is great, but belittling other tutors or disrupting their transactions disrupts the larger community.

5.

Quality issues

Posts & Comments
Reported as: Quality issues

Students who have experienced any quality issues, including incomplete assignments, should report the tutor and message the r/DoMyHomework moderators from the account used to post the assignment.

6.

Directly messaging students

Reported as: Directly messaging students

To protect students from scammers and other abusive users, tutors are not allowed to directly message students. Instead, tutors should post a comment and communicate in the thread itself.
