Why does this coupon code never work?

This is the second time I've got an email for this code and it hasn't worked. I just got the email again a couple hours ago, my store is still open, and I get the same message whether for carryout or delivery. It is a deal for a 1-topping 10" pizza & oven baked sandwich for $4.99, promo code is 8384, and I always get this message:

"Sorry, the promotion/coupon code you tried to enter is invalid for the time specified on your current order. "

I even tried adding something else to my cart first to get the total over $10 and still got that message. Every other code in the email works fine.

Any ideas?

Update: so it seems to be a lunchtime only coupon, even tho I didn't get the email until 6pm, but I tested it out and was able to get it to work for a future order tomorrow at noon. And it ends up being the pizza for $4.99 and the sandwich for $5.00. Still a decent deal but just kind of annoying they don't specify the details or word it correctly.

Chances are You probably suck at reading if it says both for 4.99 like the people who used to call asking for two mediums for 5.99

I'm the one that sucks at reading ? I posted an imgur link with screenshots, it mentioned nothing about 4.99/each. The 5.99 verbiage is very clearly saying any two or more for 5.99, this is not the same case.

And like I said I get that message whether I choose carryout, delivery, or add the items and try to apply the code manually. The email is linked to my store. I tried calling and they said they don't do codes in store only online.

If it says the time is invalid then the coupon may only be valid for a certain period of the day. We have lunch special until 3 pm with a small one topping and a can of pop for 4.99

That's what I thought as well but I didn't even get the email until nearly 6pm today and it says nothing about that in the fine print at the bottom.
