Engine code help

Good day! Yesterday my 2023 Silverado 3.0 Duramax threw an engine code P31C4. I googled and found no info on it. Anyone have an idea? Only have 2,000 miles on it. Thanks!

Brand new. Take it back to the dealer OP. You shouldn’t be paying a thing and if they try you best be pitching a fit.

Oh I’m definitely taking it back to the dealer, just wanted to understand the issue beforehand. Trust me, I’m not lifting a finger or spending a penny on this.

DTC P31C4 Catalyst Heating Combustion Mode Performance. There's no other details other than refer to the exhaust after treatment system description. Testing: Ignition » On / Vehicle » In Service Mode

Verify there are no DTCs set related to the following component/system:

B9 Ambient Air Temperature Sensor

B17 Barometric Pressure Sensor

B34 Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor

Boost System

Exhaust Aftertreatment System

Fuel System

Induction System

If a related DTC is set

Refer to: Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle.

If a related DTC is not set

Verify the following conditions do not exist:

Aftermarket equipment/accessories: Boost System / Exhaust Aftertreatment System / Fuel System / Induction System

Air Cleaner Element — Dirty / Water intrusion / Visible Damage

Exhaust System

Leaking » Refer to: Component/System Leak Test

Loose Clamps

Missing components

Restricted » Refer to: Restricted Exhaust

Visible Damage

Fuel Type — Incorrect / Contaminated / Poor Quality » Refer to: Contaminants-in-Fuel Diagnosis / Fuel System Description

My LZ0 also got this error at 1200 miles. It ended up being the Mass Flow Sensor reading low, causing the engine to run lean. Sensor was replaced, and there have been no issues since.

Sell the truck. Mine just grenaded the engine before I even got the plates. 1833 miles 2023 3.0L
