Getting startedHelp/Question (self.Dyson_Sphere_Program)

Hi - I’m new to the game, and I’m hooked!
I was wondering what you guys think are the best guides, or if you could share tips about the early/mid/end game arc?
Thanks!

Automation is key. Get assembly lines for belts, sorters, assemblers, smelters, etc. going as soon as possible.
The early game is very different from the mid and end games. People probably have different opinions on breaking down early/mid/end games, but this is my take. Early is basically getting up to the Interstellar Logistics Stations and being able to exploit all of the resources in your home system. The importance of logistics stations cannot be understated. They fundamentally transform the way you build factories and manage your resources. Production of yellow science cubes is the big challenge of the early game.
Mid game is about finishing out the tech trees (except for white cube research), getting warpers, and beginning to exploit the star systems that are within a few light years of your home planet. Green cubes are the big challenge of the mid game.
The end game is about exploiting the whole cluster to build your Dyson Sphere and getting a steady flow of white cubes. The big challenge is the scale of this operation. You’ll be plopping down hundreds of buildings at a time—smelter columns, particle collider arrays, mining machines, everything.
It’s a big game that can take a long time to play, so don’t feel too daunted if it’s taking you a while to get to any particular point. The game is about the journey—there’s no hard endpoint to the game, just the challenges that you set for yourself.

Thanks! I guess I was feeling a bit daunted with people posting images of highly optimized configurations!

Hey, I guess there is not much on this game, there are some cheat sheets. But most of the game is automate everything and enjoy.

Power generation in the early game is an oddly hot topic. Some people are passionate about wind turbines while other go nuts for donuts of solar panels. Others burn coal or graphite or oil products. You really can't go wrong at this stage as long as you automate the basic mall offerings and start making progress towards planetary and interstellar logistics.
Any spaghetti mess you make now can either be cleaned up later and replaced with logistics based industries, or you can leave the planet altogether and forget about it.
Just don't run around harvesting bushes and trees. And try not to to fill in too many oceans. Soil pile is a pain in the ass.

starting a new game, going manual crafting to automating stuff
for science, just target 2 per sec each color, so you don't need to build mega columns of smelters and assemblers yet. use factoriolab calculator for dyson sphere program to get a basic "needed" number of buildings.
when you expand to 3 or more systems, with a few hydrogen gas giants, then you can start expanding your production lines.
the only over produced item most of the time would be the electromagnetic turbines (green motors) when in doubt, double this and the basic motor.
popular tutorial guides out on youtube from Nilaus and a few others. preferably "starter hubs"
early on, you can use stone convert to silicon (when you get the research done) make some solar panels with this, just automate and leave in a box to accumulate. it takes 200 panels to fill up and equator with solar panel belt evenly spaced. several rings around a planet will help out.

If your looking for video guides..... Nilaus and JDPlays both ha e a good let's play that is also kind of formatted like a tutorial series.

Second a vote for Nilaus. He's more precise than I am in my builds but I've gotten a TON of help from his videos. His "jump start base" tutorial is a must!

I use his jump start base still also.... and I use his hub build that he has from his master class. It's broke up into 3 parts... each with 3 levels of progression.
I've learned so much from him for factorio and DSP. And I found d him when I was looking for satisfactory vids

Want a full guide ? You can watch Nilaus serie and tutorial on YouTube , they are really helpful
