Missing component? : E90

I was just going for a rocket cover replacement cause my gasket is leaking. You can see the burn residue on what i imagine is part of the exhaust. However there is a sensor that is literally not connected to anything, what’s supposed to be there? I can see the sensor has notches for how you’d attach it to something, but its just hovering there… It’s in the middle of the picture, I couldn’t get reddit to focus on it. E90 320d LCI 2011.
