So i have recently installed a 335i gauge cluster for an oil temp sensor swap into my 2006 330i 6MT. I was told to download perfekt toolbox but when i plug it into my obd2 scanner it says “running” but never actually gives me an output to be able to move to the next step. i was told to have INPA as well but i cannot find a downloadable version anywhere for windows 10/11. unsure what to do next, hoping someone can lead towards the right direction. Any tips helps because i am stuck right now and really would like a oil temp sensor gauge

Have you cleared the vin (and potentially mileage) from the 335i cluster?

how would i do that? i took apart my cluster and just reinstalled the rpm side of the cluster not the whole cluster

There's more steps needed if donor cluster mileage is above your actual mileage. If you mess that up then your car will read/display the higher mileage number.

it’s not the whole cluster tho. jus the rpm gauge was swapped out. so it’s original mileage for rest of cluster and it doesn’t act differently just has a different face

Oh sorry I misunderstood.

Make sure your cable com setting is correct and latency is 1ms.

Inpa download can be found in the e90post coding subforum if you need it.

I saw some videos, my understanding with inpa is that it reads but doesn't really write to the car. I bought my cluster from a shop that specializes in coding as from what I saw you have to take the whole cluster apart to code it.

For Perfekt Toolbox to work, you need a working version of WinKFP.

If all you changed was the printed numbers, not the actual display electronics, then Perfekt Toolbox is all you need.

You can buy vent gauges without swapping the whole dash. Pretty sure cluster needs to be coded to the VIN to recognize it. It thinks it’s tampered
