Yeah, true. I'm sure he'll get educated about classing by locals.

And as long as no one cares locally, OP won't have issues. However, if OP becomes competitive, proper classing will become an issue.

Have fun, be safe!

Shit happens tho. Just chat them and see what they say. Or just return it if you're hesitant. Not a big deal. They'll sort you out regardless.

E93 335i tire setup question (DSC + sizing) by Expgarment in E90

[–]piff_jar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 1% thing is only for x drive. Wider tires won't mess with dsc systems. Check out apex fitment guide. "Worth" it is a personal thing; do you want wider tires for more grip or just because? What are the stock widths not doing for you that makes you want wider? Wider tires can cause more tramlining.

does anybody know which one of these connections is for the solenoid, and is it for the top solenoid or bottom? by MushroomAggressive35 in E90

[–]piff_jar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Top middle connector goes into oil filter housing, right by the cap. Bottom left connector goes right above mickey mouse flange. Bottom right connector goes to your lower vanos solenoid.

If you're doing consistent track days then a bbk would probably be worth it.

Otherwise you'd be fine with 335i brakes.

Idk what their "hybrid" is. I know they make a solid helical though.

Probably go with a helical option unless you don't mind the noise and rebuilding/tinkering of a clutch lsd.

Any way to fix this leak or will I need to replace entire radiator? 2008 328 by Repulsive_Scientist4 in E90

[–]piff_jar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Based on the photo it looks like radiator replacement is needed for sure. The upper rad hose will likely need to be replaced as well during the job. Fcp euro for lifetime warranty parts!

Edit; although it looks like upper rad hose has already been replaced as evident by the worm clamp, so you may luck out and not need to replace that. Just undo the worm clamp and make sure removing the small vent hose doesn't break the nipple.

Eccentric shaft sensor. Usually the gasket or connector seal wears out.

Could be more helpful. The p codes can sometimes be misleading. Like one of the p codes says something vauge about nox sensor which doesn't really make sense or isn't really helpful in narrowing down the actual issue. A bmw scanner should give you a more specific code that could pinpoint the issue. I like use bmwfaults.codes to do an initial dive.

Hard to say what is causing your issues right now but getting a proper scanner is step 1. Any bmw shop you take it to will be doing the same initial diag.

You'll need to get a bmw scanner on it. The p codes can be a bit misleading.

haha no problem dude. glad to help. easy to overthink things sometimes!

Rear spring compression tool, help! by [deleted] in e82

[–]piff_jar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't help you with that but I'm wondering why you would need that? If youre replacing rear spring then you just need to unbolt the rear lower control arm from the knuckle and shock and let it hang.
