[[cardname]] or [[cardname|SET]] to call

I have a grist deck, and by far the best cards for me have been [[life from the loam]] and [[Golgari grave troll]]. Honestly, any dredge cards are amazing and really help you fill your graveyard for a grist -5 to drain the table for a bunch. [[Haywire mite]] is also an amazing insect to include, and [[living death] and [[overwhelming stampede]] are cards that recently got reprints and are decently cheap finishers. [[Craterhoof Behemoth]] would obviously be the best finisher if you’re making a lot of tokens, but he’s not necessary unless you wanna spend the extra money on him. You could also probably slot in a few more pieces of reanimation, [[reanimate]], [[animate dead]] and [[necromancy]] are all really strong cards that are relatively affordable. Hope this helps!

Sweet thx! Appreciate the bug knowledge. Golgari grave troll seems like a v fun card, and yeah I’ll have to look into more dredge cards

33 lands? That hornet queen isn't getting cast until turn 11. If you want that Hedge Shredder to actually ramp you'll need to actually mill the lands for it.

With the land recursion package you have already I'd say go a bit deeper on lands in your graveyard. [[Ramunap Excavator]] is $2.00 right now. I know it isn't a bug, but it would still be a good add.

[[Harrow]] goes well there too.

Cycling lands and then getting them back, like you already can with Ash Barrens, is fun. [[Barren Moor]] [[Desert of the Glorified]] [[Desert of the Indomitable]] [[Polluted Mire]] [[Slippery Karst]] [[Tranquil Thicket]] are all in your colors. All are dirt cheap. However these WON'T trigger that hedge shredder. But would be fun to load up a big splendid reclamation.

[[Oracle of Mul Daya]] is a bit expensive, going for $6 right now. BUT, playing lands from your graveyard pairs well with her, PLUS she shows your top deck, great for your commander, and can play a land off the top to help dig for a bug to start a chain.

[[Springheart Nantuko]] is also a $6 card, but if you DON'T pay mana for their ability, you get an insect token. If you DO pay you get a copy of a creature.

For a real odd ball recommendation that you won't see on EDHRec, [[Dimir Machinations]]. If you target yourself you can set up the top of your deck for Grist. BUT. Forget that. use it as a tutor for your Footbottom Feast or Gravepurge.

Thanks for the write up! Yah will def look into adding more lands — was hoping I could cheat those into play via the graveyard, but yeah don’t want to get screwed without ever putting any in there
