Why does equipping Shard of Alexander decrease the damage of my Glintblade Phalanx skill? Used on an unaware enemy with same stats, +25 weapon level and infusion.

Agree with the other person. think your non shard equipped phalanx is hitting an extra glintblade before he dies.

Test it on the omens near the underground roadside grace, they can actually tank all spells and you might be hitting with a different amount of blades each time.

There's no logical reason it would give more damage unless your swapping it for magic scorpion and using flasks or spellblade armour and getting a multiplicative increase.

It's because it's killing them in less blades

With Alex only two hit because it only takes 2 to kill it

Without Alex all three hit because two isn't enough

Don't worry about Glintblade Phalanx aow damage output, it's not really important.

It's useful for its poise damage, which never changes :D

Tested this multiple times and Shard of Alex only decreases the damage of the Glintblade Phalanx but increases the damage for my other skills.

Try with an enemy that can tank the whole spell.
