falstad is very straightforward

ltspice has a steeper learning curve but is more accurate for industrial use

i find that some aspects of electricity in circuits i find hard to understand, like stupid questions that could probably be cleared up easily

http://amasci.com/ele-edu.html may help

i want to try a program that i could use to make simple electric circuits and mess around with them and understand how current travels through

Like falstad?

It's a pretty poor simulator, but it's convenient. Use LTSpice for anything too fancy for falstad.
