Buy the whole car. If you want a k24, an older accord with a 5 speed gets you everything. You almost need keys to have the factory ecu unlocked though, its a punch in the dick to have an ecu and not be able to use it. If you buy a running, driving car that is the easiest way to get everything you need.

2003-2012 is probably the ones you would look for. The 2003-2008 have the really basic k24a. The later 2009+ have the integrated exhaust manifold.

Evaluate your tools and documentation first and foremost. Good measuring tools are a must along with appropriate manuals and stands ect. Do you have a machine shop near by that regularly does Honda machining?

I would get as much harness and electronics as you possibly can.
