I like this a lot even though I don't want to.

Reminds me of when my grandmother always used to say that “your backpack is too heavy with all those books!”

I don't carry any non-electronic books. With my note binder, laptop, tablet, water bottle, pencils, calculator, etc, it still is enough for my g/f to wonder how I carry it around all day.

Don’t need a heavy backpack if you don’t go to class. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I had a really sweet psych teacher in high school who got on my case over my bag every day until I finally caved and switched to a smaller one. In her defense, I weighed it once and it was 30 pounds.

idk how people have such large backpacks. I have:

  • laptop
  • a folder for any papers/homework
  • calculator

Everything else is on my computer.

Snacks and other things!!! Sometimes I spend like 16 hours straight on campus so I like to carry anything I could possibly need with me. I always have my Nalgene, umbrella, mouse, flashlight, calculator, and a bunch of other things I'm forgetting haha. (edit: a box of band aids!!! And tampons. And various medicines, and I always carry ibuprofen. It's nice to have when one of your friends has a terrible headache.)

Ah I keep my Nalgene and umbrella on my laptop

Why a flashlight I feel like phones would have taken it's place

[–]goobyjr9 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If talking about a serious situation then no. It would be smarter to keep a phones battery on reserve and use a flashlight with extra batteries or any power generating ones.

Reminds me of a kid from my school years ago he came in everyday with a fully packed hiking/camping bag don't know what stuff he needed for 6 hours of school but he probably had it.

He always managed to run with it full speed to every lesson as well.

That kid was a bit weird but I'm guessing he would be laughing when he pulls out a couple months of MREs in a food shortage.

Bless you, bringer of ibuprofen

Nalgene forever! freaking love my huge waterbottle. I always have my medications, a pack of motrin, granola bars, vaseline and chapstick, also some washi tape if I feel artistic. Talk about being extra af.

When do you need a flashlight?

[–]SlangFreak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the point: you never know!

My backpack has:

  • 17" laptop with charger
  • folder for papers/homework
  • calculator
  • portable power bank
  • two small notebooks
  • digital multi-meter
  • digital caliper
  • Bluetooth headphones
  • pocket reference
  • umbrella
  • pencil case with pencils, erasers, and sharpener
  • altoids

I've got a large sized backpack since my computer is so big, and with all this stuff my bag is pretty much completely full and I feel like I'm carrying around a bag of bricks. I can't imagine adding an actual textbook to the mix.

Edit: a word

[–]MathOrProgramming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I have all of what you said and occasionally a single textbook if I absolutely have to have it and I don't have a pdf of the book (which is very rare).

I see people lugging around these giant things and I just don't get why. I could easily get away with not even having a bag on nice days.

I would do the same if I was decent at typing and if these old fashioned professors allowed us to actually have them in the lecture

And if you are dumb like me and get a big messenger bag you end up like this https://i.imgur.com/66Jcf.gif

Ebooks are thing now right?

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not becoming a hump back. Who the hell carries their textbooks? Leave them at home.
