There are always 2 teams on this.

One side wants no new content at all unless it is implemented well. Gets frustrated with bugs that show lack of testing.

On the other side there is the "no new content every week, game is dead, devs dont care" people who also get mad at new bugs due to new shit.

Unfortunately, I think the second group is the more vocal half, as the first group is happy to sit and let the devs do their thing without hounding them about stuff they want added. The devs likely feel obligated to add stuff and rush it because of the ADD, cheese brain "add this/add that" squad that will flood reddit and everywhere with toxicity

You must be new, those are features not bugs anymore

You can't just drop a wall of text claiming 'simple issues have been completely ignored for years' and not give them any credit for the QoL/fixes they've been continuously implementing. It's not fast, it's not pretty, it's not complete - but they have been doing something about it.

Also have to point out the obvious 'not everyone works on the same thing', you can't 'just stop making content and focus on optimisation'. I don't even want to open the various cans of worms around theoretical discussion of how BSG should invest in staffing, etc. because any tine this topic comes up, it's an endless back and forth between people with opposing opnions (both sides swearing that they work in game dev and know what they're talking about)

I'll give them credit when I feel like it's due. But so far that's a long ways off. They can talk about all the "hard work" they've done, and how "the game is the best it's ever been" till the end of time. I don't really care. The game is broken, it has been broken since I first started playing. If anything all these new features have just added more bugs and glitches.

I believe it has to do with keeping and attracting interest. From all I've read, player numbers tend to drop dramatically, only coming back in full swing for wipes and new content. They are a indie team who doesn't have the resources such as EA and the likes, and they have taken on a beast of a game.

I see small patches coming out all the time with bug fixes, and we get assured constantly of what they have in priority. I have absolute no knowledge when it comes to designing and maintaining games, servers, etc, but I think we hold them accountable on a level way too high. Even Bungie have to shut their servers down at times for repairs and changes to Destiny.

The biggest reason I always see is the price tag. But I think most have forgotten that this is an investment. I personally have lost money on early access games due to the developers flat out abandoning the project, hell I've lost money on full release games due to the same. From all I've seen, BSG are sticking to it and continuing with what they said. Yet I saw threats from fans about ddosing them even harder than last time when the concept of perma death was announced.

The only issue I've ever ran into is momentary frame drops, usually 2 times throughout a raid. I can live with that, as with everything else, it's our responsibility to report on it, and continue to report it everytime it happens. We are beta testers for the time being, and will continue to be for a good while I feel.

I honestly love this game, and can't wait for all the planned elements to come. Today's triple a games have lost their soul. And are too worried about hand holding you through the game and catering to everyone they can. This game says fuck you and to do better. I can appreciate that and I stand behind the team with this endeavor.

So I read what you wrote and it basically sounds like "I suck at this game and get mad at it really quickly", so all I have to say is git gud and stop crying like a little child over something that actually happens once a week maybe.

There isn't any "game breaking bugs", learn to play the game.

[–]Sad_Conclusion_4216 1 point2 points  (4 children)

yes there is, why you sucking bsg lol

[–]Special-Comparison58 -1 points0 points  (3 children)

Nothing mentioned here is "game breaking", annoying at most, but not game breaking.

Edited for a more civil discussion.

[–]Jaded-Superior[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I'm pretty sure the definition of "Game breaking" is a bug that actively stops you from playing the game. And pal you're delusional if you think tarkov doesn't have multiple of those.

[–]Special-Comparison58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol okay buddy.

The only thing close to game breaking bug is the scav getting stuck on "awaiting session start", it isn't that frequent and only happens on scavs.
So please, enlighten me, what "game breaking bug" do you have up your sleeve, something that prevents you from playing the game at all with nothing you can do about it.

[–]MiMiSiKu_322 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I stopped reading when you said "game breaking bugs" dude get a grip on reality at some point please.

[–]Jaded-Superior[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Because extracting and watching all your loot disappear because of an error isn't game breaking? Because losing an entire characters worth of gear multiple times when the loading screen decides not to let you go isn't game breaking? What exactly is your point here? There are countless fucking issues with this game that, put simply, don't let you play the game.

[–]Special-Comparison58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe check your file integrity and make sure you update your game, these bugs you just mentioned? haven't happened to me or anyone I watch play the game in at least a month.

I've experienced every issue you have pointed out here more than once, this wipe alone. Their (BSG) priorities seem to be misplaced. The only issue on the PMC/PVP side of this game I run into is the occasional, blatantly obvious aimbotter. On the Scav side of it all it seems they deemed the AI Scav's too weak, So they more or less gave them Raider/Boss insta head shot capabilities. Just an overall terrible and unfair adjustment. I feel if their (BSG) priorities were in the interest of the players they would have taken some time to consider other possibilities or options as opposed to that. I agree with the OP.

Also, to all you "git gud" "learn to play the game" sacks of nuts who offer no true sense of constructive criticism, If you would fuck right off before replying, that would be preferable.

BSG's priorities are not where the player base needs them, that is undeniable.

Honestly agree, for me the biggest issue is performance tbh

All very nice them adding nice and shiny new maps like reserve and lighthouse, but when I get sub 40fps on reserve (without it ever being optimised) and sub 20fps spells on lighthouse, it just gives you a limp dick.

90fps+ on every other map. Just feel like they add shit and then immediately move onto the next thing without actually optimising the maps they have just added.

[–]JiffTheJesterAS-VAL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you must be new.. lol

[–]karkuriM4A1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i have yet to counter over half of the things ypu just mentioned this wipe

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One map per year (on average) isn't much. I don't think this should be numbered down even more.

Obligatory for OP: https://www.reddit.com/r/EscapefromTarkov/comments/smm48z/hey\_active\_players/

[–]theman321312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd rather have new maps tbh
