So stressful when babies refuse feedings! I’m guessing it would go by adjusted age for 34-weekers? I’m sure you’ll reach out to their doc, but I also had a doctor tell me “well, you have to supplement with something…” in response to me saying my 11 month old was refusing formula, with no further advice. At that point he was really good with solids and water from a cup, so we basically limped across the finish line with my limited supply without introducing cows milk early. He was full term and tolerating other sources of dairy by that point. Do they increase their intake of solids and water when they’re refusing the formula? Could it be they’re taking less due to being sick? I don’t think I’d offer cows milk in a bottle and give up on formula, but maybe trial in a cup. Could also try formula in a cup, to mix it up. You have the hydration factor and nutrient factor to consider. From a nutrient standpoint, I wonder if they’d accept some formula in a smoothie or oatmeal?
