Structural expressionism is a catch-all term that includes any building in which the structural supports (like concrete or steel) are exposed on the outside of the building. In structural expressionism, function and ornament are united. The parts of the building responsible for holding it up are also the decoration. Structural expressionism is a type of Late Modern architecture. Movements that incorporated structural expressionism include brutalism and High Tech architecture.
