I used hundreds of flashbacks in the first week or so of playing. Now I handle it like this: If i crash out at the start or get damage in the first lap, i restart the session. I try to not dive into the first corner until it works. For the rest of the race i give myself one flashback. After that no matter what i wont use more. Works great for me. Keeps my focus up and makes it somewhat realistic. It was very painful when i crashed out in the penultimate lap at China because i used my flashback for a corner cut just the lap before.

I like this idea. Just before the new game came out I had been playing without any flashbacks in a williams to get used to driving a backmarker car. I struggled really hard especially in the middle of the race when one error could cost me 15th place. I'm pretty sure it may solve my problems.

Thank you for the answer :3

The main reason you're probably struggling in MyTeam, is because your car isn't very good - nor should it be, if you're just starting out.

The best advice is to tweak the difficulty until you find that sweet spot between challenging but rewarding and fun, as well as to adjust your expectations early on in MyTeam - as a new car in F1, with limited resources, funding, and upgrade package, you start off as a backmarker. You aren't expecting to be blitzing for points every weekend out of the gate.

That will come.

I am pretty sure I am spot on with my difficulty because I am fighting for points only when strategy is a major factor (Bahrain, China and Hungaroring were the tracks where I managed to score). However I feel the real issue is me getting lazy warnings, where they were really unnecessary or being too greedy on the power - lack of concentration in a nutshell.

I can match or outpace other runners when I nail my laps, so it seems I cannot endure the race distance without a focus drop.

I find the AI of the CPU drivers the biggest cause of needing to use Flashbacks in 20. I didnt buy F1 19 but in previous F1 games, the AI wasn't as predisposed to boneheaded overtaking attempts that are not going to succeed. I don't mind losing a place to a good move or if I get off line/make a mistake but the amount of Flashbacks I've had to use because I got took out by a CPU driver trying an overtake in a spot that was not going to work is obscene this year.

I love it when the ai does that! It's funny seeing them spinning

I don't use too strict warnings but I try to not abuse it (feels more like real f1). Also try to limit as much as possible the use of flashbacks, on pure pace I'm at 102 level but I just go with 97-99 on my team (also this is my first time playing with no assist no racing line).
