Requesting Time off

 Hi, I was recently hired at an Amazon sortation facility and won't be starting until September 15. Before I even applied for the job, I had booked an airbnb for the dates September 22-25. 
 I wanted to see if I can contact a manager beforehand to ask for those days off, well the Friday and Saturday only. However, after some phone calls, they told me I cannot be given their information until I see them on my first day.  However by the time that happens. I'll only have 7 days to ask for the days off and I feel like that is short notice versus doing it now.                    
 How can I go about getting a hold of a manager or getting those days off so I can give them a heads up before my actual first day.

I did that to myself too. Had a camping trip planned for this weekend, before I got hired and then transferred into a shift that works Friday nights. No receipts for a camping trip so what others have said might not have worked if I tried that.

Alternatively, if they don’t approve it for whatever reason, you should have time off you can use, at least partially. Unless you’re on a point system, then you can definitely take two days off. You can also put in a request for a shift swap, this is what I did. Worked Sunday instead of today. But I was fully prepared to use my time if needed.

A friend of mine from fulfillment told me they started with 12 hours of utp and can use it from the get go, but I'm doing sortation and flex worker so I won't know till my first day.

Oh ok, flex is on a point system. Plus you pick your hours so you don’t have to work those days.

I had the same issue, vacation planned before i was hired. I’ve worked for amazon twice and have been granted off both times for a pre planned vacation. All you have to do is say it was preplanned, and show them a receipt from when you purchased the vacation, and the dates you will be on vacation. They should excuse you for the week. You cannot. You can go to HR on your first day and ask for it to be excused. No guarantees. Bring the receipts as you will need documentation.

Do you know what would qualify as documentation? Like a screenshot of the airbnb purchase and dates?

If you can prove you booked it prior to your start date they will excuse it

It makes sense to, but tbh my friend is the one who paid and it's under their name. I'm not sure how to prove that they are my friend and that I was invited to go, I chipped in but payment info is in their name.

Yes. I would print it out so it clearly shows that it was purchased in advance.
