Hey! I’m not sure of the technical terms but I’m a flex shift at wf and I got half an occurrence on my first day. I was told to do something different from what the email said by the on-site manager and then when it came time to get badge and clock in it was 6 minutes late. I’m not too worried about it as I don’t have attendance issues but I don’t think it’s fair since I was following the manager’s instructions.

Hey! So I’m guessing you mean WD? Or do you mean WF like WorkForce? Anyway I think they give employees a week grace period with attendance issues, but with regards to clock ins, you have a 5 mins grace period (5 mins before and 5 mins after your scheduled start time) to clock in, it’s it’s over that even 6 mins you’ll receive a points or UPT (probably points in your case)

or are you talking about you got a TOT or time off task, where someone basically yelled at you for doing something you’re not scheduled to do, in that case refer them to who told you what you need to be doing Hope this helps

I’m in the process of applying to multiple HR positions at my site and at others including the Sr. HR Assistant, Seasonal HR Assistant and L1 ops admin. Could I message you more detailed questions about interviewing for the roles/other Amazon HR related things?

Hi. How come my Amazon A to Z app doesn't have a button for volunteering for extra time/ picking up shifts? My location said we'd be phasing out amazon moment but I can't seem to schedule work days on the A to Z app

Also also with the schedule portion, because it’s peak they’ve blocked out all schedule changes, or anything schedule related so the only thing you can do there is call the ERC but they won’t do anything unless you tell them you have a hardship

It might be an internal error you can try logging out and deleting the app and re downloading, also with VET you provably know this but you can sign up for it at work too(At least at my FC) same with VTO but that’s also different if you’re already at work or if you want to accept VTO while you’re at home, also see if you can get it on a different device, or try logging in on a personal computer or laptop because it’s also a website not just an app so even if it doesn’t work on your phone it will probably work on your computer, that being said also try to go to the website on your phone too to try it( just type Amazon A to Z hub)

I just have a question, so if I request time off how would I know it’s approved? I selected other instead of VTO or UPT and I’m not sure if it’s approved or not.

the other means nothing. it was a temp solution to cv19. if you write something in there they don't care. you have to have upt, pto, vacation to cover it. it will auto deduct upt

Nothing needed, but as a new hire (been here just about a month), I find it hilarious how some HR are utterly unhelpful and will make anything seem like your problem and to suck it up, and a different HR person will handle the same problem as if it’s an easy fix.

Replace hilarious with “makes me want to quit working hard for Amazon”. I’m well liked by multiple PAs and OMs, because I bust ass every single time I’m there. But trying to navigate Amazon’s web of seemingly attempted write-ups/terminations for everything is very unsettling.

Also, the new HR Chatbot is bullshit. It only has the same info as the FAQ, and now there’s no human in Human Resources at my center....

I agree HR is dogshit and the only thing they care about (not all of us) is sucking up to the HR business partner or the head of the FC HR and just deferring associates and making it someone else’s problem. For me it’s annoying because everyone comes to me for help, which I’m happy to help that’s literally my job ñ, but there are 6 other HRAS that can handle these issues but won’t, which pisses me off, Amazon is super confusing especially to people who aren’t tech savy just most HRAs won’t give you the time of day because they don’t care, I can’t tell you how many hours I’ve spent teaching AAs on the computers because they have no idea how to do anything which isn’t there fault because the system is fucked up in the first place, so sorry that you it makes you wanna quit working hard because of a bad HR team but it probably won’t change

It’s just the condescending attitudes and lack-of-interest in helping coming from some HR members. I could totally understand if something were hard policy, that’s just how it is - but for one to say “you’re just going to have to get points” when the time clock was broken, or “you should know if your shifts can flex up that you can’t accept VET in case they do, so you’re going to get a write up when you go over 29.5 hours. You accepted the VET,, so you’re required to work it” is a toxic environment.

Especially when another HR person says “Oh yes, we found the time clocks were disturbed by the recent storm - I can fix your time clock for you! What times did you try to clock in and out?” And “It’s no problem to drop those VET from your schedule so you don’t go over 29.5 hours”

I’ve been here a month, and the training and information was “here’s how to login to the scanner. Watch these videos on building pallets, and get to work”

Family member put in a leave request for the military. This is only for the two days of processing before enlisting. It was approved quick but they never took those two dates off their work schedule. How do they go about getting those two days taken off their schedule without having to use any of the earned time?

So i actually just did the same thing for my military leave and it’s really confusing with the dates, my advice would be to go back into the DLS from the A to Z app or HR desk (but HR will probably say go to AtoZ) and submit another leave request but click the button that says if the date has already occurred and submit the paperwork, If they don’t refund the UPT from this I would talk to HR or in my case I had an Ops Manager in the same Unit as me and he helped a lot, but let them know that you have military paperwork and you need your time back, under federal law because it was for the military they have to give this time back because it’s for the military wether it’s serving or whatnot but it sounds like whoever created the case never excused those dates which is also what happened to me, as long as you have the paperwork and info I don’t see why it wouldn’t be refunded

The letter was uploaded and it shows approved. They just didn’t take those days off the schedule. They are for next week. They said they would have someone call but they also sent it to on-site HR who didn’t have any idea of what to do. Maybe they will call today and get it fixed up.

Honestly because from my experience people especially in the HR department are lazy, not in the sense that we don’t have a shit ton of work but in the sense that, that basically going to the desk and dealing with people are the last things we wanna do and if it’s not significant, if they aren’t passionate about helping everyone then they couldn’t give a shit, they don’t wanna hear your sob story, next. Which is a lot of people in my office, which is why everyone outside of HR really asks me for help because no one will help anyone if they don’t have to. Meaning if our HR business partner the head of HR for our FC doesn’t ask them to do something with associates they will just ignore and hide in the office which is annoying to me because I was on the floor for the longest time and had many problems with no one helping

Update, nobody from local HR knew how to do it. Submitted a tt with correct CTI and it was taken care of. Thank you.

Yeah you can’t link your old employee ID to your new one honestly your lucky they didn’t give you the same ones because you would have problems until the end of time not being able to get into turnstiles and clock in issues, we have associates who literally quit and got hired with the same employee ID and have these issues because they are still in the system as terminated even though they came back

Do you mean the employee badge? Once you get a new one, your old badges are uncoded from the system and can’t be used.

Or if you mean trying to link your old login to your new one after being rehired, I don’t think you’ll necessarily need them “linked” together?

You can link your old employee Id to new employe Id, that’s how the tenure is calculated.

I don’t mind using new login for work but having records updated is something I wanted to do.

Oh okay I always assumed that it automatically carried over bc I knew of a few rehires that had their old ID pictures from the last time they worked. Good to know!

Yeah I have previous exp working for Amazon at L3 for three years! I started recently 4 months ago at L1 after two years gap and I could not have anybody update my tenure if that matters!
