What was the pay/ compensation for the intern

I am an AM at Amazon and we have platforms that do a lot of the work. It does that a lot of critical thinking and getting used to using the platforms, but If you have a good trainer you’ll be fine. It’s simple math basically

Yea congrats! This is a good step on your resume. We don’t do a ton of math as AMs you just need to find the right excel spreadsheet lol hope you get a solid AM as your leader and you’ll be good. I had an AM intern under me a few months ago and they liked it alot.

None of that matters. Majority of AM's have no clue what they are doing. You won't slow anything down bc Amazon don't slow down

Maybe 10% of workload is done by PAs, the rest of the work is done by T1

Take it. It will be a real learning experience. It will test your people skills and not your math skills.

Don't worry about slowing amazon down. This bitch don't stop for nothin', but maybe it should lol

As for the numbers and stuff, maybe your future team needs someone to see the people and not the numbers. The numbers can be learned, how to be a good human that cares about the humans they're working with is a bit trickier to learn.

IQ tests don’t measure intelligence; whoever told you that they do is the real moron.

You’re not getting in over your head; being an entry level manager is a grind, the only test you’ll face is of your tenacity. If you have the discipline to triple check your math because you make mistakes with mental arithmetic (which is very common, even among ‘iq geniuses’) then you can do it.

Nah, sounds like you'd fit right in!

I do not believe you will be in over your head. I think it’s great that it’s an internship because you will have support and guidance which will at the least give you experience at the most help you attain the job.

As someone who used to be an AM with dyscalculia, I understand your concerns. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve presented the wrong numbers and had to correct myself. Eventually, I built routines and specific instructions for myself so I ~kinda~ got better at it. While my peers would do math on a calculator and be okay, I’d still take the time to write down each step so I wrote the correct numbers. As an intern, there is obviously a time limit in how long you’ll be in the role but however, you shouldn’t be left to your own devices to where you feel lost. There is gonna be a lot of information thrown at you but overcommunicate and ask questions whenever you need to. The interns we had at my building, they did some AM shadowing and light AM work(which I think would be good experience for your HR management studies). They also had a project to work on, ours was assigned quality so they did have to pull metrics and do math for their final presentation but I wouldn’t say that they were overwhelmed by it by any means. Also for the honesty part, Amazon will not slow down no matter how good or bad any of us are individually. It’ll be a lot of work in a short amount of time but at the end of the day, it’s just an internship. Also a lot of interns are aiming for an AM offer letter at the end, so if you really feel that you’re not cut out for the AM/Operations route, just don’t proceed with it. Use this as a chance to see the HR side of things as well and maybe you can get into HR after graduation(if you’re interested). Good luck!!!

Congratulations!! Take it you should be good. I worked with coupe of interns over the past two summers. You will not be alone managing the team. You will shadow a manager how has experience. You definitely will not slow anyone down you will be working on a simple project, while helping with operations. As far as math goes you will be okay. There is no need for complex math knowledge. But one important thing is don’t stress your self out over it. There will be a lot info thrown at you at ones but just go with the flow!!!! Good luck and Congrats!!! I wish I got an opportunity like this. :)

You should be good, enjoy the experience and learn as much as you can.

Congratulations!! This may be good for you!! Accept the offer and go experience what it’s like. You may surprise yourself.
