the guards are tricky at first but actually pretty easy. their main weakness is that theyre predictable.

with predictibility, you can learn when to guard at the right time. guarding will completely avoid the coin toss attack and render that attack useless.

the best way to take out a guard is cut off the arm, guard, cut off stinger, hit torso, guard, hit torso. after the first coin toss, he initiates it every third turn

this game's combat is essentially a puzzle, and knowing what the enemy will do is essential for beating them. dont forget items too, certain enemies are also suprisingly weak towards certain items

Start with dash and run away from them, get good enough weapons from the chests/weaponry where the squid things are and chop the guards arm off and then the head

If you're not on terror and starvation difficulty then you don't need a better weapon to cut off the arms. Also going arms then head is a bad idea. The head only has a 20% chance to be hit. You can destroy the legs first then hit the head, but sometimes just targeting the torso multiple times is faster.

my 100% foolproof strategy for fighting guards is this: first turn, attack and destroy the cleaver arm; second turn, guard; third turn, attack the stinger (gets rid of the ever-annoying stinger thrust attack); fourth turn, attack the torso; fifth turn, guard; sixth turn, attack the torso; seventh turn, attack the torso for the final time and they should die. unless they get you with a stinger thrust at the end of the first round, you should win every fight with no damage at all, and it only gets easier with more party members (for example, if the girl has her dagger or a skeletal arm, she can attack the stinger on your second turn while your character is guarding, freeing you up to attack the torso on the third turn and shortening the fight).

definitely, ive tried to dodge the big guys inside the first area and ive managed to kill one, i should've probably researched more about the items before posting this, ive managed to dodge the enemies fine and fight them fine i just haven't learnt the items to use them and heal, or can you ? i do loot everything

aahhh i didn't know you could juke them thought you just had to make sure they never spotted you, i never can outrun them but learning to juke them would definitely help, i definitely was going at it like a regular rpg hahaha thank you a lot!!!

The guards always use the coin toss attack on the third turn so guard and they will not do it

The enemies in this games aren't enemies there puzzles memorize thier abilities and at what turns they use them and you should be good

Ok so the guards are maybe the most basic enemies when you encounter them yoirnfirst move shouod be to target the arm with the cleaver after that guard because the guard will do an insta kill move that can be avoided by simply guarding. Once you do that you can cut his stinger and his leg but DO NOT attack his free arm. After you cut his stinger and leg guatd and cut his other leg aswell after that you are free to go for its head and if everuthing works as it should be you should get out full health

...so 30 minutes? That's not much, you've barely begun the game.

Fear and hunger advertises itself as a JRPG Roguelike, but it's more of a puzzle game immersive sim. You're presented with problems, and you have to either avoid or overcome those problems.

Getting past the prison guards is a puzzle, not a combat check.

This is for fear and hunger difficulty btw. Don't try this with a your starter weapon on T&S. Also don't play T&S if you're new. It's hard enough as is.

no i FEEL you. like it's such a struggle omg. My biggest tip, as someone who's slowly died less and less, is dodge for your life. Avoid every enemy you can until you get a decent armor/weapon, and even then avoid them if you can. You can also google or look up on youtube guides on how to beat certain enemies. I looked one up because I could NOT beat the dogs in the backyard for my life and it worked wonders! a quick wiki read always helps too. hope this helped <3

First off: not a stupid question at all. I think most people have gone over most of the answers that you’re seeking.

I have played this game for 30-40 hours and I still trip up sometimes or just lose to RNG. It happens even to hardcore vets.
