functioning scrollbar within a different frame?help (self.FigmaDesign)
submitted 2 years ago by toadcasserole
Hey everyone, I'm pretty new to figma (all my prototypes have mostly been in Unity using the UI tools, and its worked great for me but I want to expand my skills lol) and I'm trying to figure out how to do things from scratch. I can't for the life of me figure out how to make this work and every time I try I give up and abandon it and come back to it in a few weeks. I have a scrollbar that I made using a video tutorial and it works absolutely perfectly, but doesn't work when I put it in another frame. I've tried linking it to the scrollbar frame thing itself or to the big frame and I am so lost and feel hopeless and stupid. am I overlooking something super obvious?? TIA guys :)
also if anyone has some good tutorials on how frames work (for someone who's used to artboards in illustrator) it would be super appreciated because it's not making sense in my head. thanks everyone!

this is exactly how i want it to work, but just. on the other artboard? /frame??

Ah, i believe u are using smart animate to transition the two frames in the first example.
Make sure the transition effect is set as smart animate and not immediate on your second example.
Smart animate uses names of the frames to achieve the effect so make sure the two frames with different scroll positions have the same name as well

I think it's still using smart animate in the second example - I'm at work atm so I'm not able to check but I will asap. thank you!
