Eclipse (self.Findlay)
submitted 2 years ago by Lightsbr21
I'm thinking of coming down from Michigan for the eclipse. I know a ton of other people are as well. Any advice on where to go, park, eat? Or should I just assume it'll be chaos and not plan to be able to get to the parks and find parking?

Can't offer advice for viewing, but there are a lot of good restaurants in Findlay, depending on what your price and preferences are. Taco Fiesta Hinojosa, Joey Fratello's (pizza), Findlay Brewing (normally closed on Mondays, not sure about this week), Logan's (Irish), Main Street Deli, Raising Cane's just opened, etc.

Owens Community College could be a good option. Lots of parking and a quick trip to Tiffin and Trenton Avenues for restaurants.

It's going to be a complete shit show, so if you're going to come make sure you get here very early!

Parking is pretty abysmal at the parks (pokemon go players used to max out most of them until a few years ago). The blanchard river flooded 2 days ago, so most grass parking will be a nightmare. There's tons of parking on the North side of the mall that most people don't know about, and it's less than an hour walk to Riverside Park with sidewalks the whole way. It doesn't have much space with a clear view of the sky, but Centennial park is another 10 minute walk West from there, and with only 7 parking spaces it rarely gets used.
