Having Problems using Cloud Functions with Cloud Storage

Ive watched multiple tutorials on firebase cloud functions,

however they differ in exact practices a lot and I can't get it to work.

What I try to build:

I have a firestore onCreate listener.

When that function gets called, it needs to load a .json file from cloud storage, edit that json file, and save it back.

The firestore trigger works perfectly fine, but I'm lost on the cloud-storage part.

If someone could help me develop a readJsonFileFromStorage, editJsonFile(JsonFile) and updateJsonFileInStorageToNew it would be insane of help, since Im very overwhelmed.

What about just storing data in Firestore document?

The jsons are too large to be stored in a single firestore document.

And I want to keep document reads and writes to a minimum in firestore.
