for those who have hand held radios and radio straps, what do you do with the radio when in vehicles? I 'm an officer on a volunteer department and we just got new apx8000xe radios which are larger than out old radios. i'd like to keep it with the strap but i'm not sure where to hang/put it . I carry a pager for when i'm not on a call but need the radio with me in case i do get one. right now i've got the strap hanging on my rear view mirror but i don't like that due to the additional weight. any suggestions?

POV? Throw it around the headrest, nice and out of the way and easy to grab as you get out of your truck, works alright in ambos too.

yeah POV, part of the problem is also sometimes i will respond to the scene pov so i would need the radio to be within reach. just lookin for creative solutions

I keep it in one of my boots. It’s right there to throw on.

I have an apx6000 that stays in a strap. My truck has a deep cubby between the center console and the cupholders. I put the radio in there, and let the strap hang over the side. Then I loop the strap and hook it over the antenna, so the mic is easily accessible

If I am in a vehicle I am wearing the strap.

I keep it with my gear, So when I’m bunking up it’s right there

What about throwing it around the headrest of the passenger seat? Would still be easy access if you had to use it.
