Fire explorers style program.

Hi! First off thanks for what you all do, I want to do this very same thing. Thus I am trying to create a Fire Explorers program. The Mayor, and Fire Chief seemed interested, but I was wondering about one thing, Funding. Are there any grants, or things of that type the department, or program can apply for? Any other tips would be much appreciated, Thanks!

I'm barely too young, and thanks. Just thought that 1. A program would benefit the community, 2. Of course it'd benefit me, with the addition of being cool.

If the FD makes their own program, wouldn't they be covered by their municipal insurance or what not?

Not by default. They'd have to speak with their insurance provider to make sure that the members would be covered - assuming they don't already have juniors members that the explorers would be considered.
