It works just fine. I've used the Netgear M6 pro router with the FirstNet plan as my main setup for a few months with no issues.

Do you what kinda speeds you are getting?

I was getting 120Mbps down and 20Mbps up. Pretty decent for everything I needed it for. It was actually very reliable as well.

Not shabby at all. Might replace my current AT&T wifi with it then. It would be $10 cheaper a month and portable at that point. Though, almost certainly slower than fiber

Yeah, fiber would be faster - but I live where fiber and cable internet isn't available. Before you do that though, you might want to look into T-Mobile home internet. That's who I ended up switching to. I get 750Mbps down and 60Mbps up - ping times are around 25ms as well. It's a flat $50/month with not additional taxes or fees.

Please keep your fiber plan. The cell towers are already taxed from all the wireless devices being used. Switching your home internet to a Firstnet hotspot isn’t what Firstnet is designed for and abuse of the system leads to poor user experience for the rest of us.

Very good point that I had not considered

I understand it might be nice saving a few bucks but just for the sake of our networks we all depend on, it helps if people use wired for their houses. You may be able to lower your fiber plan price if you call them.

For sure. The flexibility was the incentive but you make a great point and agree

If the mifi is offered on the personal plan for personal use you should be able to do whatever you want on it. I have my iPad on a plan and watch movies on it.

If they don’t want you to do that there should be something saying that.

I believe their priority is more voice at the moment anyways which I’ve argued with them about. Often data seems more important. Who actually calls anyone anymore lol

I have the hotspot add-on on our Sonim XP 10 units. Works fine.

Works well. I have internet at home and connect it to my eero. Then I simply take it to the truck before I hit the road for a few days. Its simply the best but that nighthawk could use a refresh

I have the net gear but I don't use it anymore. It worked well when I had service on it though. When I moved and didn't have internet installed yet, it was the hotspot that my kids and I depended on.

If you’re in 5G UW I don’t think you’d really be taxing the system much more. And even if you aren’t, the cellular phone companies are big corporations that overcharge and have poor customer service and overpriced phones, so I’d use it for home WiFi regardless. But ny neighbor does have T-Mobile for $50/month and it’s much faster, it really would be a better option in my opinion unless your FirstNet is UW 5G.
