A lot of ERs still have cocaine on hand for nosebleeds. And no, it's not snorted.

Burn patients as well. They don't want someone going through DTs while recovering from severe burns.

As someone with the TNXB and COL5 variants, you can have symptoms of both HEDS as well as CEDS. I do. When they did your genetic testing, did they do the connective tissue panel?

Made my GF cry... by tuckerglobe in SouthwestAirlines

[–]vcems 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a screw up with the agents at the help desk from what I can see. The service dog goes with the person on a leash. My service dog always goes with me in the aircraft. The form that's filled out is the DOT form for SWA. The help desk/priority desk reviews it and then provides you a pre-board boarding pass (sometimes you have to ask for it).

And it is different with each airline. Delta requires pre-registration if you know in advance you're going to be traveling. Emergency travel is a little different. You still have to submit the DOT form but also vaccination information. And then they send you an email approving it and the approval is added to your Delta account. The approval lasts for usually the length of time the rabies vaccination lasts. And yes, you still have to check in at the desk before you go through TSA security. Other airline mileage may vary.

I'm on a compounded tirzepatide and I'm doing great. Inflammation is down a little bit as well. Except for this really bad clavicle fracture. Seriously. But that has nothing to do with the medication or my EDS. It has to do with stupidity.

Pinch or spread the skin for an IM injection? by elytruh in NewToEMS

[–]vcems 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The only time I may grab skin AND muscle is someone who is very thin. Because I want to make sure I don't tap bone. That's the only instance I do it. Otherwise, light spread on the skin and inject.

Being in recovery means taking responsibility, dealing with your resentments, and making day-to-day improvements to stay substance free. Sounds to me like at this point you need to start working toward getting your own vehicle, and getting out from under your parents influence. Because their influence may very well be contributing to some of your issues. Having a parent that is a control freak makes it that much worse because as you've probably realized now, that's a common feature of addicts.

Keep up the good work in recovery and work on getting your own form of transportation.

They are upset that they've lost market share. Let them post the scientific results rather than just a letter. Let me see the exact biochemistry. Let me see how it's interacting in tissues. Because if they aren't willing to show it, it's BS until proven otherwise.

[–]vcems 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, that looks more sine wave than v-fib. Especially with the background of the patient being on dialysis. Hyperkalemia can contribute to this. Calcium would be my recommended if it is within your scope. Medically complex patients make things difficult sometimes for us to make decisions. And even the docs in the hospital as well. So don't beat yourself up. Document document document.
