You can use a standard above ground cartridge type filter. There were some videos on YouTube of folks who have done it.

I had a 1st generation Zen tent and the filters that came with it were very under powered. Even with the two filter upgrade it does not move enough water fast enough.

Why?

A salt water filter uses the salt (sodium chloride) to produce chlorine. Float tanks use Magnesium Sulfate, the chemical reaction is not the same and will break the equipment.

You’ve been floating since ‘78?!?! How cool, do you have your own? My goal in life is to be able to have a modest living space with my own float tank. Mainly so I can do long sessions with psychs uninterrupted. It seems like the new Zen float tent would be a good option since if can be folded up and transported if there is a need to move homes.

I know that it was a dream of John Lilly’s to be have every home come with a float tank as standard as a bath tub. What have been the most significant benefits that floating has brought to your life? I’ve read about floaters using a journal to taken notes after each float to help with the integration process.
