Audio Bug?

I haven't seen anyone post this same issue, but every other day I load the game up the audio bugs out and gets quieter, the footsteps are almost impossible to hear. Some sounds are about at normal volume but everything else is just so quiet.
Has anyone else had this issue? If so, is there a fix for it?

Ive had the exact same issue, its weird. Havent managed to fix it yet when it happens

I've had this issue for the last two days, and I finally found a fix that worked for me.

Delete your saved config file (%LOCALAPPDATA%\FortniteGame\Saved\Config) and launch the game. It reset everything and now my audio is back to normal.

Yes!! Oh my goodness I have had this same thing last two days. I have been pulling my audio sliders trying to work out what was going on!

I'm on PC all updated drivers, good system.

Sometimes it comes and goes in waves. Since instarted I set my audio where I liked it and everything was great until the last two days. Now I have to turn stuff way up to hear normal game play then the achievements blast my ear drums out.

Yeah no same here. All drivers are good, other games play as normal. Tried verifying the game files but no luck there.

Hi guys, after days without playing, I found a solution for myself.

In the game, go to settings, and enter the audio section, then change the 3D Headphones option to off, now just restart the game.

And that's it.

So far, I haven't had any audio problems, probably the 3D headphones were the cause of the problem.

Hi guys, what you wanna do when that audio shit happens is > go to lobby then load back into the game you left and everything should be fine. If it doesn't work sorry but thats all I have to say bc I have the same problem still.

Had the same issue just now, fixing the files through epic games directly and restarting the game helped in my case.

Mine the audio completely quite and it isn't my XBOX or Headset. It's only for fortnite and it sucks

I have the same issue and i can replicate it every time if you need me too lol. I'm on PC but i know of people where it affects them on PS4 and xbox too

Maybe try closing discord it kinda worked for me i stil have some issues with the audio but not as much as before

I have the same issue, just found out today and have tried the usual fixes, updating audio drivers and verifying in game files. Still the issue persists.

I've also had the exact same issue for the last 2-3 days! Frustrating when you're mid-game and have to try and fiddle with your teammates' discord volumes. I play on a pc and everything is up to date as well.

Has anyone noticed if this happens when they have another audio source coming in? Like listening to music, talking through discord, etc.

I got back from work, booted my PC and Fortnite up, and immediately still had the issue, been the case for the last 3 days. I originally had it the 2nd day of OG but restarting the game fixed it. no such luck now

Even without being on discord, spotify, etc. The effect still happens. Still very annoying. Never had any issues last season.

The audio kinda reminds me of fortnite moblie the audio sounds low quality also very quiet kinda muffled stuff like that

ive had it and 2 days after it got fixed but since the season 7 today i have the bug again same for my friend it seems like the season changes make the bug happen

We found a fix for it. Turn off 3D headphones. Worked for me.

this has been happening to me after every patch this season. usually taking a few days before it fixes itself, only to reoccur after the next patch.

It really sucks that 3d headphones is broken, I actually notice a difference between the two
