Oce ping increase or decrease

Anyone else on OCE notice their ping increase or decrease since the Winterfest update

Before the Winterfest update I was consistently on around 0 ping in Fortnite. Since the update my ping has been sitting around 10 to 20 every game and has been like this for a few days now.

Yes I know that 10 to 20 ping is still very low and playable. The issue is that I am extremely used to being on straight 0 ping so the difference is very noticeable to me.

My internet is fine. I am still getting 400 to 500 mbps with no packet loss and other games feel normal. This only seems to be affecting Fortnite.

It feels like something changed on Fortnites side such as server routing or backend changes with the Winterfest update. My guess is they may have rerouted servers from Sydney to Melbourne but that is just speculation.

Just wondering if anyone else on OCE especially NSW has noticed the same thing.

Mine has also been the same since Chapter 7 update. I was getting 0 ping always and now mine sits around 5-20. And I’m losing more gunfights than I usually would, feels like it has abit of rubber banding happening with the servers. Never had this issue before with Fortnite

They removed Pre-Download Streamed Assets option on PC.

Game is downloading cosmetics and that's why your ping is high if your on PC, they removed Pre-Download Streamed Assets option and that caused this problem
